Kowhai Clinic
You can request a repeat prescription without needing to see your GP. This service is available for our enrolled patients who are on regular medications, and there’s a charge associated with it. However, for safety reasons, it’s important that repeat prescriptions are handled by your own GP.
Repeat prescriptions typically last for three to six months, so we advise requesting yours at least a couple of weeks before you run out. Please be aware that it takes up to four working days to process prescription requests, and requests placed after 3 pm on Friday won’t be ready until the following Monday.
In the event that your doctor is away, another doctor may handle your prescription. If they’re not comfortable providing it, you may receive a shorter supply. To avoid any disruptions, we recommend ordering repeats well in advance.
We’ll only contact you if we need to discuss your request; otherwise, you can assume your repeat prescription will be processed. However, due to high volumes, processing times may exceed two working days. Rest assured, we’ll reach out to you once your script is ready.
Prescriptions usually take 48 hours to generate, unless specifically requested earlier. Please note that there are charges for these services:
Repeat Prescription picked up next day $15 for Community Services Card Holders enrolled at Kowhai Clinic, and $20 for non-community services card holders. Prescriptions may be sent electronically to your pharmacy of choice.
You can choose to either request for your prescription via ManagemyHealth, email our admin staff or call our nurse (choose extension 2 after the voice prompt) , please note that sometimes our staff will not be able to pick up your call when they are attending other patients, feel free to leave a voice message and our nurse will endeavor to call you back in the next 24 hours.
